From the Founder
During my childhood, I was told repeatedly that my body wasn’t made for dancing. At the age of 24, I had a stroke that paralyzed me from the neck down. I thought my life was over and my body was broken.
2 months later I miraculously walked out of the hospital, but I was still paralyzed on the inside. The trauma of the stroke resurfaced years of rejection as a dancer that left me feeling I didn’t belong and I wasn’t worthy.
3 years later, I discovered ballroom dancing. Something about connecting with another person through movement brought a new vibration of joy and positivity into my life to replace the sense of isolation and fear.
A simple Google search on dance and paralysis ultimately changed the direction of my life forever. I was shocked at how underdeveloped the area of dance and disability was, and knew it was my destiny to do something about it.
I found a paraplegic bodybuilder named Adelfo and asked him to dance. He had no dance training and I was initially terrified to dance with him, but after a couple of hours I realized that dancing with Adelfo was no different from dancing with anyone else. Everyone’s body is made for dancing and dance doesn’t discriminate.
This life changing event eventually led me to create Infinite Flow.
